It is widely used in supporting houses in various engineering sites and temporary Housing etc. However, with the extensive use of prefabricated houses, many fires occur every year. Therefore, the fire safety of prefabricated houses cannot be ignored.

In the market, most of the prefabricated houses use color steel sandwich panels composed of outer color coated steel plates and core material EPS or polyurethane. EPS is a kind of rigid foam plastic with a closed cell structure, which is made of foamed viscous polystyrene particles. It has a low ignition point, is relatively easy to burn, generates large smoke, and is highly toxic. In addition, the color steel plate has a large heat transfer coefficient and poor fire resistance. When it encounters high temperature or the core material EPS is exposed to the fire source, it is easy to be ignited. As a result, the chimney effect spreads laterally, and the fire hazard is extremely great. In addition, unauthorised connection of wires, or wire laying out of compliance with regulations, the use of high-power electrical appliances, and the littering of cigarette butts are all likely to cause fires. To prevent fires, we must start from the following aspects:

1. Seriously implement the fire safety responsibility system, strengthen users’ fire safety awareness, do a good job of fire safety training, and improve protection awareness.

2. Strengthen the daily fire safety management of the mobile board room. It is forbidden to use high-power electrical appliances in the board room. All power should be cut off in time when leaving the room. It is forbidden to use open flames in the room, and it is forbidden to use the mobile board room as a kitchen, a power distribution room, and a warehouse for inflammable and explosive products.

 3. The laying of electrical wiring must meet the requirements of the specification. All wires should be laid out and covered with flame-retardant tubes. Keep a safe distance between the lamp and the wall. Illumination fluorescent lamps use electronic ballasts, and coil inductive ballasts cannot be used. When the wire passes through the wall of the color steel sandwich panel, it must be covered with a non-combustible plastic tube. Each board room must be equipped with a qualified leakage protection device and a short-circuit overload switch.

4. When the board room is used as a dormitory, the doors and windows should be opened outward, and the beds should not be placed too densely, and safe passages should be reserved. Equipped with a sufficient number of fire extinguishers, install indoor fire hydrants, and ensure that the water flow and pressure meet the requirements.
